SDG # 10 - Inequality

Reduce Inequality

  • 10.1: Income growth of the bottom 40% of the population at a rate higher than the national average

    • This indicator measures the extent to which the growth in the income of the bottom 40% of the population is higher than the average growth rate in the country. This is a measure of reducing income inequality and ensuring that the benefits of economic growth are shared more equally among the population.

  • 10.2: Proportion of population living in poverty

    • This indicator measures the proportion of the population that lives below the national poverty line, which is the minimum level of income deemed necessary to meet basic needs for food, clothing, and shelter. This measure helps track the progress towards reducing poverty and income inequality.

  • 10.3: Proportion of workers in vulnerable employment

    • This indicator measures the proportion of workers who are in vulnerable employment, which includes people who are self-employed with little or no regular income and those who are working in low-paying, insecure jobs. This measure helps track progress towards decent work and reducing inequality in the labor market.

  • 10.4: Gini coefficient

    • The Gini coefficient is a measure of income inequality that ranges from 0 to 1, with 0 indicating perfect equality (everyone has the same income) and 1 indicating perfect inequality (one person has all the income). This measure helps track the progress towards reducing income inequality.

  • 10.5: Proportion of total wealth owned by the bottom 50% of the population

    • This indicator measures the proportion of total wealth (assets minus liabilities) owned by the bottom 50% of the population. This measure helps track progress towards reducing wealth inequality and ensuring that the benefits of economic growth are shared more equally among the population.

  • 10.6: Proportion of households with access to basic services

    • This indicator measures the proportion of households that have access to basic services such as clean water, sanitation, and electricity. This measure helps track progress towards reducing inequality in access to basic services.

  • 10.7: Proportion of population using safely managed drinking water services

    • This indicator measures the proportion of the population that has access to drinking water from a source that is protected from outside contamination and located on premises, readily available, and free from fecal and priority chemical contamination. This measure helps track progress towards reducing inequality in access to safe drinking water.

  • 10.8: Proportion of population using safely managed sanitation services

    • This indicator measures the proportion of the population that has access to sanitation facilities that are not shared with other households and that safely dispose of human waste. This measure helps track progress towards reducing inequality in access to safe sanitation.

  • 10.9: Proportion of rural population with access to basic services

    • This indicator measures the proportion of the rural population that has access to basic services such as clean water, sanitation, and electricity. This measure helps track progress towards reducing inequality in access to basic services in rural areas.
