SDG # 7 - Energy

Affordable and Clean Energy

  • 7.1: Renewable energy share in the total final energy consumption

    • This indicator measures the proportion of total final energy consumption that comes from renewable sources, such as solar, wind, geothermal, and hydropower. This helps to track progress towards increasing the use of clean, sustainable energy sources and reducing reliance on fossil fuels.

  • 7.2: Energy access

    • This indicator measures the proportion of the population with access to electricity, as well as the proportion of the population with access to clean cooking fuels and technologies. This helps to track progress towards providing universal access to energy, which is essential for development and the achievement of other SDGs.

  • 7.3: Energy efficiency

    • This indicator measures the improvement in energy efficiency, including measures such as the reduction in energy intensity (the amount of energy required to produce a unit of GDP) and the improvement in energy-efficient technologies. This helps to track progress towards using energy more efficiently and reducing energy waste.

  • 7.a - b: Enhanced international cooperation to facilitate access to clean energy research and technology, including renewable energy, energy efficiency and advanced and cleaner fossil-fuel technology, and promote investment in energy infrastructure and clean energy technology

    • This indicator measures the level of international cooperation and investment in clean energy research and technology, including renewable energy, energy efficiency, and cleaner fossil-fuel technologies. This helps to track progress towards facilitating access to clean energy technologies and promoting investment in energy infrastructure.
