  • 4.1.1: Proportion of children and young people (ages 5 to 17) who are able to read and understand a simple text in their own language.

    • Measured by collecting data from household surveys, educational assessments, and other relevant sources.

  • 4.1.2: Proportion of youth and adults (ages 15 to 24) with relevant skills, including technical and vocational skills, for employment, decent work and entrepreneurship.

    • Measured through vocational training programs and by collecting data on employment outcomes and skill levels.

  • 4.2.1: Proportion of children and young people who are enrolled in pre-primary, primary, and secondary education, by sex.

    • Measured by collecting data from educational institutions and national education registries.

  • 4.2.2: Proportion of young people who have completed lower secondary education, by sex.

    • Measured by collecting data from educational institutions and national education registries.

  • 4.2.3: Proportion of schools with access to basic infrastructure and services, by type of school and location.

    • Measured through visits to schools, surveys of school infrastructure, and other relevant sources.

  • 4.3.1: Proportion of teaching staff in primary and lower secondary education who have received the minimum organized teacher training.

    • Measured by collecting data from teacher training institutions and surveying teachers.

  • 4.3.2: Proportion of students in primary and lower secondary education who are taught by trained teachers.

    • Measured by collecting data from educational institutions and surveying teachers.

  • 4.3.3: Proportion of schools with access to ICT resources and trained teachers.

    • Measured by collecting data from schools, surveys of ICT usage, and other relevant sources.

  • 4.3.4: Proportion of students in primary and lower secondary education who are able to use ICT for learning.

    • Measured through assessments of student ICT skills and by surveying students and teachers.

  • 4.4.1: Proportion of the population with at least a basic level of literacy, by sex and age.

    • Measured by conducting surveys and assessments of literacy levels.

  • 4.4.2: Proportion of the population in a given age group who have completed the specified level of education, by sex.

    • Measured by collecting data from educational institutions and national education registries.

  • 4.5.1: Proportion of youth and adults (ages 15 to 24) with the knowledge and skills to use ICT for effective communication and problem-solving.

    • Measured through assessments of ICT skills and by surveying students and teachers.

  • 4.6.1: Proportion of the official development assistance (ODA) for education received by least developed countries (LDCs).

    • Measured by collecting data on the allocation of ODA for education, by recipient country.

  • 4.6.2: Proportion of ODA for education allocated to support primary, secondary, and tertiary education.

    • Measured by collecting data on the allocation of ODA for education, by education level.

  • 4.7.1: Proportion of students in education institutions who have participated in education for sustainable development and sustainable lifestyles.

    • To measure this indicator, data on the number of students who have participated in education for sustainable development and sustainable lifestyles programs should be collected and compared to the total number of students in the education institution.
